MEMBER SERVICES

Member Services endeavors to assist our ministries in their efforts of ministry work and to be a focal point where both members and visitors can obtain needed information related to the church.

Church Membership

· A body of believers that PRAY together

· A body of believers that FELLOWSHIP together

· A body of believers whose Lord is the head

What are the benefits of being a member of a Church?

· `It identifies a person as a genuine believer (Eph. 2:19; Rom. 12:25).

·  It provides a spiritual family to support and encourage them in their walk with Christ
(Gal. 6:1-2; Heb. 10:24-25).

· It gives them a place to discover and use their gifts in ministry (I Cor. 12:4-27)

· It places them under the spiritual protection of Godly leaders (Heb. 13:17; Acts 20:28-29)

· It gives them the accountability they need to grow (Eph. 5:21)

What can you expect as a member of Star Bethlehem?

· Worship — Worship helps you focus on God.  It prepares you spiritually and emotionally for the week ahead.

· Fellowship — Fellowship helps you face life’s problems by providing the support and encouragement of other Christians.

· Discipleship — Discipleship helps you fortify your faith by learning truth of God’s word and applying principles to your lifestyle.

· Ministry — Ministry helps you find and develop your talents and use them in serving others.

· Evangelism — Evangelism helps you fulfill your mission of reaching your friends and family for Christ.

A request for church membership is based on the following:

· Candidate for baptism, or

· Letter of recommendation from your former church, or

· Previous Christian experience, or

· Restoration after six (6) months’ absence

· Public affirmation before other church members

· Completion of salvation classes

· Receiving the Right Hand of Fellowship

· New Members’ Orientation

Membership Privileges

· Personal discipleship with the Pastor and/or the Family Ministry Team

· Attend church business meetings

· Access to church leadership for suggestions, questions, and concern

· Availability of leadership support in time of need (sickness, funerals, weddings, births, etc.)

· Regular personal and intercessory prayers you and your family

· Pastoral counseling and guidance concerning major areas of your life (your walk with God, your marriage, family, job, etc.)

· You are contacted regularly by your Family Ministry Team

· Assistance with identifying and equipping concerning your spiritual gifts

· Priority use of church facilities (i.e., sanctuary, Fellowship) at no or minimal cost
