Youth Ministry

We are glad you stopped by! Our Youth Ministry is a place in which we want both students and parents to be connected.
Our society has begun to overlook the need for spiritual growth in the lives of students. Our Student Ministry is here to provide a safe place for students to belong and be discipled in ways that promote growth and love for Christ in their daily lives.
This Ministry equips and empowers the youth of our church in the following areas:
  • Evangelism - teaching them how to effectively communicate their faith
  • Discipleship - teaching the student how they might connect with God through practical application of Biblical principles in their daily lives which will better enable them to relate and respect their peers and others they may encounter
  • Fellowship - opportunities that will allow the family to come together in an informal environment, encouraging more closer relationships with other family members
  • Missions - engaging and giving the students the availability and opportunity to contribute to their community by meeting others' needs
  • Worship - a time set aside for the family to celebrate God's love together through song, testimony, prayers, and preaching. In addition, to provide education programs and support to students and parents that are designed to bridge educational gaps and promote academic excellence.

The Meaning of the SBMBC Youth Ministry T-Shirt. The scripture on the T-shirt comes from the New King James version of the Bible:
Proverbs 22:11. He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.
We see the cross, which is the symbol of our faith ~not our religion but our faith, and that faith is in Jesus Christ.
On the bottom is “The Word of God." It is on the bottom because it is holding everything else up. When you stand on The Word of God, it will hold you up.
The cross is positioned on the left side, over the heart which is symbolic, for we are to have Jesus in our hearts.
The cross and the Word of God are illuminated in white which is symbolic of the purity of God; with Jesus you are pure, too.
The Word of God and the Cross are not the base colors of this Servant Garment. They define the garment just as you are defined by your relationship with Jesus.
The background is black, and the phrase “Stay with Jesus” is blue.
I submit to you that these are the colors of a servant. “Black and Blue”. Isaiah 53:5 says that Jesus was “bruised for our iniquities”.
Isaiah 53:5. "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."
The color of a bruise is “Black and Blue”. Jesus Christ as “The Servant King” was bruised, made black and blue, for our sins.
This T-shirt is the garment of a servant, and its colors are “Black and Blue” in remembrance of what Jesus did for us on the cross.
